Book movies

Have you ever watched a movie based on a book and you were waiting for a part of a book that you loved and they didn’t even add it in? Recently, Catching Fire, Ender’s game, City of Bones and a few other book have had a movie made for them. While watching them I kept seeing the movie leave out some of my favorite parts. I am angered but, I decided to look at movie writer’s problems. First, Suppose you have a 500 page book and can only make a 150 minute movie (which is still really long) that means that 3.333 pages occurs a minute or, 1/20 of a page per second for a 2 and a half hour long movie! Most likely movies are only a hour and a half so that is about 1/10 of a page per second. Two, who want’s a one minute long major fight scene. And finally three, honestly movies have to cut out all the fluff of a book so think about that next time you are flustered.

I’m From a Old Lamp

I’m from a old lamp that kept the monsters away

from sparkling water and Brussels sprouts that my mom won’t throw away.

I am from the old oak tree growing into the window

and the lack of moisture always in the air.

I am from a plum tree named flowers

and the trees leaves who never grew from a devastating drought.

I am from Chinese and pizza on Christmas eve

from Ted and Katie.

I’m from the stuffed pig on top of the Christmas tree

and my brother sitting on me

I am from screen peeking

And that’s cheap.

I’m from the monsters under the bed and evil bears

and mom is always right.

I am from the peanut’s movies.

I’m from Austin and Westlake

and chicken nuggets and chicken parmesan.

I’m from my brother double jumping my sister off the trampoline’s net and breaking her arm

and the $1000 under my bed causing my mom to give both my brother and sister $500 because they were angry that I was richer

than them.

Sandy hook massacre video game

Recently a video game was released on the sandy hook massacre. If you don’t know what the Sandy Hook massacre was a 20 year old man went to a elementary school and killed 20 kids and six adults. I find this quite disturbing. Even though a Senator is trying to stop this it’s terrible that this was even released. The game was made to create awareness but the awareness is in a terrible form. Warning Do Not Try To Watch a Video of the Game. It is very disturbing as it shows you bursting Into halls and shooting children. This is a perfect example of how low morales are. Sure this was a terrible shooting but to make this a game is beyond thought.

The Vatican

The Vatican is the smallest country in the world. With approximately 840 people living in it and a size of 144 Acres some people own farms bigger than the country. The country is land-locked by Italy and is completely surrounded by the city of Rome. The city is primarily known for being the center of the Christian church, for it houses the pope a.k.a the Bishop of Rome. The Country houses the Sistine Chapel and the ST. Peters Basilica. The country’s economy is supported by tourism if you can believe it. This Country is quite unknown for what it is, this occurred to me when I asked my Latin teacher if he had been there, and all the students looked at me like I had made up a country. The country is also one of the last places where people speak Latin on a daily basis. Considering Latin is the route for five languages and English consist of over half. I believe it is Important.

Sharknado

Sharknado came out last summer in 2012. It is the most hilarious movie ever. Basically a hurricane (even though it’s technically a typhoon because it’s in the Pacific Ocean but they don’t care) that washes sharks through the city of LA and after the city floods tornados form made of sharks. The main character, who is a guy who owns a bar that would resemble hooters, realizes that he can use a helicopter to drop bombs to blow up the sharknadoes. It is extremely low budget as you might tell. You know how in some movies they have family fights which are cheesy but they are well set up. well, in this movie the daughter is just like “dad and mom you care to much about you son instead of your daughter and your daughter is me.” one thing that gets on my nerves is that the never explain how they can make bombs in a hardware store and if they drop them somehow they tornado just blows up like poof!

The Ghost Army

The Ghost Army if you were wondering is (well actually was) a real thing. The Ghost Army Deployed in June 1944. Does that date sound familiar to anybody? If you didn’t know that was the month of Overlord ( A.K.A D day or The Battle of Normandy.) They used some would would say different weapons then army’s of that time. They came fully armed with inflatable tanks on inflatable boats. They had also used sound affects to scare a entire army away. They were a secret unit of the U.S. part of the army (the allies on D day consisted of Canada The U.S and Britain). Overall the Ghost army which made the allies look 3 times as big made germany spread there forces thin which overall increased are chances of victory. If you wan’t to know more then watch the film The Ghost Army.
